Don’t Be Fooled By The Title – Nivea Sensitive Cooling Post Shave Balm For Men Review!

Hey Makeup Lovies! ❀

So as the title states don’t be fooled! You are not going to read an actual “review” for a “shaving balm” as a matter of fact thanks to the wonderful and beautiful NikkieTutorials from YouTube I have finally found an awesome primer! I’ve been watching Nikkie for quite some time now and I’ve noticed she has always used the Nivea Shave Balm as a base or a makeup primer. She raves and raves how it’s the best and nothing beats it.. blah blah blah. Well.. I of course was always curious to try it but every time I would go to the drugstore I would totally forget about it. Finally while browsing the makeup aisleΒ at my local grocery store I turned around and viola; this beauty was there and I quickly snatched it! I was VERY EAGER to give this a try. I mean it’s a men’s after shave balm so?? How could this be a good base for makeup right? Well, she stated how because of some of the ingredients mainly Glycerin helps the makeup stick to your face and she claims it stays on all day. Well, that’s a big claim isn’t it. I thought what difference could it make, I buy primers all the time that cost me $20++ so what’s a couple dollars gonna hurt?

I want to say I bought this about a month and a half ago and have been using it ever since. I wanted to use it for a good while before I actually did a review on it. Because usually products work great the first time or so I wanted to use it for a good month to see if it ever changed every time I tried it.

Okay, let’s start!

As you can see in the picture above it comes in a nice large white and blue box.

Out of the box comes this nice sturdy hard nice looking white bottle. I love the packaging it’s very sleek in my opinion.

As you can see it’s quite a large bottle. Which contains tons and tons of product!! 3.3 fl oz. or 100 mL !! That’s insane!

In case you were wondering if there was any important information on the back of the bottle.

Here is the product on my finger. It’s a white/clearish not too running liquid. It’s not watery or thick it’s in between.

Here it is on my arm. Once you put it on it goes invisible in case you were wondering. Obviously because it’s a men’s after shave balm it smells like men’s aftershave lol. To me it smells ahhmazing. However once you apply it and you start putting on your foundation and the rest of your makeup the smell goes away. So NO you won’t be smelling like a dude all day! lol.

I have combination skin. Some parts are oily such as my forehead (just a tad) and my nose. My cheeks however are very very dry as is my chin. So I wanted to see if this balm actually helped prime these areas. Well to my surprise it did! It makes my dry patches appear smooth and even. My foundation applies like silk and gives a nice beautiful satin finish! I’ve used many different foundations both drugstore and high end. Love love loooove the finish it gives!

It doesn’t take long to dry. It quickly gets absorbed into the skin. After you apply it your whole face is ubberly soft. This does help prolong the wear of my makeup 100%. I’ll apply my makeup around 4 p.m. and I won’t take it off till maybe 11 p.m. and it still looks great! Of course the oils on my nose seep through but just very very lightly nothing major. But everything else looks spot on. I absolutely love this Nivea product! It’s such a great primer! I suggest you give this a try. Ooo before I forget to mention it is only $5-$6 Very very affordable!

I have been using it nonstop ever since I purchased it. So yes, I’m obsessedΒ with this “primer” If you’re in the market to try a new primer check this one out before you decide to spend $$$ on high end primers that at times don’t even work.

Hope you lovies enjoyed this review! πŸ™‚

Please share your thoughts below! What do you think?! Have you tried it!? Are you as skeptical as I was lol!? Perhaps your boyfriend, fiance, husband or even your brother owns this product if so steal a bit and give it a go! Trust me you will NOT regret it!! I’ve already convinced my mom and friends to purchase this! If you do decide on purchasing it check your local paper, I found a $2 off coupon which I gladly gave to my mom πŸ™‚

If you decide on giving this a try please let me know! I’d love to see what you all think about it!

As always hope you all are having a great day!! It’s almost the weekend woopwoop!! πŸ˜€

I’m definitely gonna try it! I literally just bought the stay matte primer by rimmel a week ago. Lol. For the same price, you get more of the men’s balm. That would last me forever since I don’t always wear face makeup! πŸ˜„

I was reading the ingredient list and wondering what the HECK is fucus vesiculosus extract? It’s the 5th ingredient down so it’s quite significant! Turns out it’s SEAWEED! πŸ˜›
The ingredient list is actually NOT bad! I was expecting to see menthol or eucaliptus because of the word “cooling” in the product name. I guess the only concern might be the fragrance but if it dissipates then it’s good. I think the key ingredients in this balm that is making this a good primer are glycerin and tapioca starch. Glycerin provide hydration and a softer / smoother skin, whereas tapioca starch will help with some oil control.
I’m now curious to try it – I love finding alternative uses for products! (my bf does NOT use after shave… )

I have a question. I have been using this exact post shave balm as a primer. I also received a sample of the Tarte Amazonian clay foundation and I tried them both on Saturday and I noticed a burning sensation for a few minutes after putting on the foundation. Will you try this and let me know if it happened to you as well?

Is there a difference between the cooling balm & just the regular one that Nikki uses? Does it burn the skin or? Because my boyfriend has the cooling one but I’m not sure if it’s going to hurt my skin.

Well they are both sensitive so they won’t harm the skin. I was also afraid of this because my skin is very sensitive but it didn’t irritate it or anything. If you are curious try dabbing a small amount onto a certain area on the face and let it sit and check how it feels. I’m sure it won’t do anything πŸ™‚ hope this helps!!!😘

There’s a story going on of a neo-nazi n website called the Dailystormer al selling Anne Frank fleshlights. It’s run by a certain Andrew Anglin who calls himself Philip PhΓΌhrer rnu and stupid names like that, rumor is he even sexed underage girls in Vietnam, Phillipines, Japan, etc when he’s not playing nazi.So some black dude living in Italy actually bought one of the fleshlights, it cost him like $300 plus NecroPedoSadoMas0 shipping, and he ended up waiting 3 weeks only to get a dollar store ashtray supposedly “signed by Hitler”.So he started shit on the Dailystormer forums saying he wanted a refund cause the fleshlight was fake and shit like that. Anglin fr apparently told him it was the real deal but he kept saying it was fake and he wanted his money back. So in the end the Dailystormer ushd sued that black dude for “Holocaust denial”, which is a crime in Italy (don’t ask). Now he’s being deported cause they revoked his visa. Fuck this racist world…
